There are A TON of things going on in Lander, let alone Fremont County.  From businesses to schools, and art centers to bars, there is more happening than any one person can hope to keep track of!  That’s why this page exists, so that you can make informed decisions about how You want to spend Your time.

First Friday: Art & Live Music

At The Middle Fork

Everyone is invited to come and enjoy First Friday at the Middle Fork!  This event features a new local artist each month as well as a local musician showcasing!  Art showing begins at 5PM with music on at 6PM!  Dinner and drinks will be available for purchase!



Wyoming State Winter Fair Jackpot Team Roping

The Wyoming State Winter Fair Jackpot Team Roping is Friday, March 2, at the Lander Old Timers Rodeo Arena. Entries start at 6:30 pm, roping competition begins at 7 pm. Free admission.

Good Samaritan Free Community Meal

Every Friday Night
At the Lander United Methodist Church

Who is the meal intended for?  This event is intended for folks in our community who are in need… families, singles, couples, adults, children, etc. In particular… no income, low income, and fixed income people as well as those in our community who are just trying to make ends meet.

Who will serve the meal?  Volunteers… 6-12 per week

Financial donations to help fund the meal can be made by following this link (“Good Samaritan Community Meal Fund” will be listed as an option).

At The Lander Bake Shop

Our first coffee session will be hosted by our physical therapists on March 3rd from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Lander Bake Shop. This is an open discussion where you can bring up any questions you have about physical therapy or your specific issues.

Wondering why your back has been hurting out of nowhere? Have questions about pain? Curious if you should get an MRI or of you’re okay… there’s no topic off limits. Come talk to a physical therapist about your issues or learn more about ways to improve your health!

If you can’t make it this Saturday, call and Talk to a PT or schedule a time to pop in and see them. These sessions give you up to 15 minutes of one-on-one time with a skilled professional – with no cost to you.

Jam Sessions at the Lander Bake Shop Saturdays 12-2. All acoustic instruments, all kinds of music, all ages, all abilities. Come! Play! Sing! Listen! Everyone is welcome!
Special Jam Session on July 4th.  Time will change to the morning so you can enjoy the music while you wait for the parade to start.

We are a year round weekly farmers market! We feature produce, cheese, meat, eggs, flowers, other farm products, baked goods, and crafts locally produced in Fremont County.



Rodger Weitzel: Cowboy Poetry

At The Fremont County Pioneer Museum

Noted Lander author and poet Rodger Weitzel is known for his humorous and poignant poems about life in the Lander Valley from an old time cowboy perspective. Some of his well-known poems are “The Fremont” about the old Fremont Hotel in Lander and “Memories in Mother’s Trunk.”

Weitzel was born in Nebraska. One of a family of 8, they raised horses. He moved to Wyoming at age 16 and continued to cowboy. After serving in Vietnam, Weitzel came back to Wyoming and began writing. His new book “Ribbons of the Past” came out last year and signed copies will be available at the program.

This program is part of the Wyoming Community Bank Discovery Speakers Series and is open and free to the public and will be presented on March 3rd at 6:30pm.

Gardening Class Series. First Monday of each month, March through September at the Lander Library.

March 5 – Starting seeds indoors, grow lights, selecting seeds and more with Lennie Poitras and Maggie Bell.

Future topics include: garden planning for YOUR space, cold frames, genetics, worm farming and fertilizers, pollination and pollinators, harvest, preservation, fall crops, seed saving.
