Home Buying: Quick and Dirty

No two home-buying experiences are the same.  Briefly listed below are a few universal steps on the road to buying a home!  For more in-depth information, checkout Home Buying: Step-by-Step

  1. Take an honest look_
    • This is the phase where you think about your wants and needs, and what your financial situation will allow.
  2. Talk to a Realtor_
    • Buying a home is complicated.  Talk to an expert to get the support you need to make the process successful, not stressful.
  3. The home for you_
    • Try to imagine yourself next month, next year, or in five years, to determine what you are looking for in a home.
  4. Financial Preparation_
    • Optimize your credit score, get pre-approved for a mortgage, and determine your budget.
  5. Find The One_
    • You should already have an idea of what you are looking for…now go find it!
  6. Make an Offer, Inspect the House, and Negotiate_
    • Know what the house is worth: a real estate agent can help you consider all relevant factors (of which there are many)!
  7. Sign Purchase Agreement, Secure Financing, and Close!
    • Process involves much paperwork and communication between buyer, seller, attorney, and lender…and then you get the keys!!
