Lander Entrepreneurial Networking Event

At the Inn at Lander Summit Lounge

Several groups including the Lander Chamber of Commerce, LEDA, the Wyoming SBDC Network and LEADER are coming together to have an entrepreneurial networking event at the Summit Lounge at the Inn at Lander, on Thursday, Feb. 22, 6-8 pm.

If you have ever started a business, led a business, are starting one, or would even like to start one, then join us to meet like-minded people. We plan to have a few local entrepreneurial folks tell their stories during the event. This event is being launched in a first attempt to bring us together and begin exploring how we support the launch and growth of businesses in Lander.  We think that getting together and building connections within the community is a good start.  So join us on Feb. 22.  Hope to see you there.

The Houlihan Narratives Presents: The Schoolihan

This event will feature story tellers who are members of Lander Valley High School– both teachers and students. Each story teller will tell a story on our theme: Turning Points. You won’t want to miss this! More information will be posted on our page revealing more details and our story tellers in the next week.

Tickets go on sale February 8th exclusively at the LVHS front office. All proceeds from this event will be donated to the LVHS SPEAK club.

FAQ

Where will the meal be served?  Fellowship Hall at Lander United Methodist Church.

Who is the meal intended for?  This event is intended for folks in our community who are in need… families, singles, couples, adults, children, etc. In particular… no income, low income, and fixed income people as well as those in our community who are just trying to make ends meet.

When will the meal be served?  Every Friday night from 5:30-7:00pm

Who will serve the meal?  Volunteers… 6-12 per week

  • First Friday ~ Lander United Methodist Church
  • Second Friday ~ Wyoming Catholic College
  • Third Friday ~ Lander Rotary / Lander Kiwanis
  • Fourth Friday ~ NOLS Rocky Mountain Branch
  • Fifth Friday ~ Wind River Community Church

How much does each meal cost our guests?  Theevent is Free.

How much does each meal cost to provide?  $120.00-$180.00 per week for up to 80 people, depending on the menu.

How is the meal being funded?  Mr. D’s and Donations . . . so far we have raised over $1,500.00.

Is there a need, and is it important to feed people?  The Food bank serves 150 families per week in our local area . . . YES!

How Can I Help?

Everybody WALK!

The Riverton Library will be opening their doors again this year for indoor walking on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9-10am. On Wednesdays from 9-10am, we will have Penny Fahey from Fremont County Wellness teaching Walk 15 & Tai Chi classes. This will be ongoing throughout the months of January and February.

February Drinking Liberally

Drink and think with progressive people! Come away with concrete action to make the world, our community and our state a better place. This is the third Drinking Liberally gathering, and we’ve had such an great showing of progressive minded folks so far. Yay Lander.
February we focus on:
-the Wyoming legislative session, what happened that’s good, bad, ugly, and what bills we can still have impact on.
-An update from the Public Lands coalition, and ways that we can all be citizen advocates for public land.
-Clean Dream Act postcard writing.
-Of course mingling with strangers and friends, getting fired up about the issues you care about, drinking liberal amounts of the beverage of your choice, and a chance to feel connected to a larger community of people who want change.
